Sav and his group have also been having a soggy time in the central North Island. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the planned Whitianga pelagic was atrocious so the skipper cancelled it, and they made alternative plans. Instead they ventured to Pureora a day early, and had a soggy day in the damp there but had incredible yellow-crowned parakeet views, lots of kaka, and great views of both shining bronze and long-tailed cuckoo! So an excellent day anyway, and they finished it with a pair of blue duck in Turangi! Excellent!
